Brian Hibbs  store owner

Born in Boone County, Missouri, pre-teen years spent in Brooklyn, New York, Brian still somehow vainly believes that he's actually a San Franciscan. Must be the hair. Brian opened Comix Experience at the ridiculously young age of 21, on April Fool's Day, 1989. Brian lives with his luscious wife, Tzipora, and his son, Ben, in sunny Noe Valley.

Doug Slayton  manager

Reared in the North Bay hot bed of culture that is Santa Rosa, Douglas learned to read playing Final Fantasy. Shortly after he discovered the X-Men, everything clicked for the first time. He still loves the X-Men, but spends more time gushing about manga, weird sci-fi and any sad relationship comic he can find.

Julie Fiveash  manager

Julie is from exceedingly sunny Yuma, AZ.  She read Calvin and Hobbes in elementary school and didn't read anything else until high school where she discovered that she'd been missing out on so many other comics!  She attended Dartmouth College where she started a comic book club that gave her the chance to rave about comics to other people.  Julie likes to draw, read, and sell comics and zines. Besides that, she takes care of her plants, one bunny, one fish, and one significant other.

Julie's Top Ten:

Joe Thompson

Joe is a Whedonite born and raised in San Francisco. His interest in comics grew from early exposure to the X-Men, Milestone’s Hardware, and the manga series Yu Yu Hakusho. Outside of work he can be found publishing his own indie titles, listening to European metal, and hunting for the best curry in the city. Japanese of course!

Liz Lucero

Liz is from South San Francisco, or as it’s more commonly known, by the airport. She is a pop culture fiend with strong opinions about pretty much every show on TV, and she is all too willing to share. She still believes you can find out a lot about a person by the way they finish the phrase “Buffy and…” but she won’t judge you unless you say Riley. The first comic she read was Scott Pilgrim, and she still has a deep and abiding love for that loser.
