Meet Mary Shyne, for YOU AND ME ON REPEAT

We’re extremely thrilled to spotlight Mary Shyne, creator of the fun time-traveling Rom-Com YOU AND ME ON REPEAT for a very special LIVE and IN-PERSON interview / Audience Q&A / Signing on Sunday July 6th at 10am PST as part of the Comix Experience Graphic Novel of the Month club!

Attendance is free, and open to all!

Here is the book’s description: In this swoony and hilarious debut rom-com graphic novel, two former friends are trapped in a time loop together, repeating their high school graduation day over and over and over. Chris O'Brien has a genius plan: If he can share the perfect first kiss with his crush, Andy, then of course he'll break free from the time loop that has him repeating graduation day over and over... and over. Alicia Ochoa thinks Chris's plan is doomed. Valedictorian and a total nerd, she knows it'll take more than a kiss to escape the loop they're trapped in together. Besides, Chris may be a hopeless romantic, but Alicia doesn't think he has a real shot with Andy. Once close friends, Alicia and Chris have history-lots of it. As they got older, the pair fell out after Chris ditched her for the "cool kids" and left her in the dust. But when you're looping side by side, you never know if friendship might rekindle or what new feelings could spark along the way.

Epic (but short!) signing with Matthew Rosenberg and Tyler Boss

Award-winning artist and writer Tyler Boss (What’s The Furthest Place From Here?), rising star artist Adriano Turtulici, and lettering legend Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou are teaming up to deliver a grisly new horror miniseries that follows a once-famous true crime writer whose horrifying fictional stories are coming to life in a string of murders by a mysterious serial killer. Drenched in pulpy Giallo film-inspired neon gore, You’ll Do Bad Things takes a deep dive into the worlds of true crime and serial killers, and the fandoms surrounding both. With a touch of B-horror camp, fans of Dario Argento films, Stephen King’s Misery, and true crime will enjoy this gorgeously dark six-issue miniseries

Bestselling writer Matthew Rosenberg (4 Kids Walk Into A Bank, What's The Furthest Place From Here?) and fan-favorite artist Stefano Landini (Daredevil, Prodigy) will team up to bring readers an all-new, six issue miniseries titled, We're Taking Everyone Down With Us. An explosive, extra-length first issue will kick off the series’ launch

We will be joined by both Matthew AND Tyler for one hour of sheer madness on a Monday afternoon! Be there! We certainly will!

Both Christopher and Tyler will be here from 4-6pm to sign your copy!

Convicts Frank Morris and Clarence Anglin have washed ashore in San Francisco after surviving their infamous escape from Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary in June 1962. They soon meet their gruff and disappointed handler, a mysterious young woman who's also running from something, and hope to quickly get their way north to the border-if they can even make it out of Modesto alive. As a dogged federal manhunt and chance encounters threaten the desperate convicts, everyone involved is about to discover the same bloodstained truth: life on the run is an even more hellish prison than Alcatraz could have ever been

2024 Summer of Signings 4: Samuel Sattin for UNICO: AWAKENING

It’s a spectacular Summer of Signings with four special events just for you!

Our cycle concludes on Saturday, August 24th, from 2-4 PM with writer Samuel Sattin for UNICO: AWAKENING, which tells the incredible story of a young unicorn who, after enraging the evil goddess Venus, is banished from the heavens and forgets all he once was. Befriended by a resourceful watch cat, Chloe, who feels protective of the young unicorn, they find themselves near a small village in the forest, taking refuge with a kindly, but helpless, old woman. To take care of her, Chloe begs Unico to turn her into a human girl, but that act of kindness has unforeseen consequences: Unico's love has awakened Venus and her minion, Byron, who want to destroy them both!  Conceived anew by author Samuel Sattin and artist team Gurihiru, and developed in collaboration with Tezuka Productions, UNICO: Awakening is a groundbreaking reboot of a beloved story by Astro Boy creator Osamu Tezuka, the "God of Manga."

Samuel will be joined by a special conversation with Thien Pham!

2024 Summer of Signings 3: Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum for MINOR THREATS

It’s a spectacular Summer of Signings with four special events just for you!

Here is a big one: Grammy and Emmy award-winning writer, actor and comedian Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum (writer and producer on multiple shows including American Dad for Fox & TBS and Community for NBC) -- they're here to promote their creator-owned MINOR THREATS -- While MINOR THREATS features the off-kilter sense of humor you would expect from this creative team, it’s also shaping up to be an unexpectedly dark superhero series. As much as anything else, the series is about what happens when an idyllic, Silver Age-style superhero universe is dragged kicking and screaming into the twisted modern age.

Come and meet Patton and Jordan on Saturday August 3rd from 3 to 5 PM!

It’s a spectacular Summer of Signings with four special events just for you!

We are excited to bring you Tina Horn, author of the excellent Image comics series locally set SFSX, as well as the recent mini-series DEPROG --  a new detective thriller that is John Constantine meets Jessica Jones with a kinky Midsommar twist. Meet Tate Debs, a hardboiled hard drinking leather loving dyke detective with an office in the back of Los Angeles' s last video store. Tate specializes in rescuing and deprogramming people from abusive groups with extreme beliefs -- like the one Tate herself escaped, that believed in inter-dimensional travel and taboo ritual sex. When a femme named Vera, who may just be fatale, hires Tate to infiltrate a group of mystical hippies out in the desert, she must decide if Vera' s charms are worth being re-traumatized. Soon, Tate must face her past out of devotion to the femme she may be falling for... and a single minded drive to avenge her family.

2024 Summer of Signings 1: Beth Hetland for TENDER

It’s a spectacular Summer of Signings with four special events just for you!

First up is Saturday, July 20th where we are very happy to bring you Beth Hetland, the author of TENDER (our Graphic Novel Club selection back in April) -- Beth Hetland's graphic novel debut is a brilliant psychological thriller that tears down the wall of a genre — body horror — so often identified with male creators. Heady and visceral, Tender uses horrific tropes to confront women's societal expectations of self-sacrifice despite those traditional roles often coming at the expense of female sexuality and empowerment.  Come talk to her and have her personalize your copy from 5 to 7 PM!

The Comix Experience Graphic Novel Club is simply thrilled to bring you writer and artist Andy Warner to support his newest graphic novel, SPRING RAIN, on Wednesday, February 26th, 2020 from 5 to 7:30pm. This public appearance will be followed directly by an exclusive private Q&A for members of the GNC. Great books from great creators for great readers — every month!

In 2005 Andy Warner travelled to Lebanon to study literature in Beirut, one of the world’s most cosmopolitan and storied cities. Twenty-one years old and recently broken up from his girlfriend, Warner feels his life is both intense and directionless. Immersing himself in the vibrant and diverse city, he quickly befriends a group of LGBT students, many of whom are ex-pats straddling different cultures and embracing the freedoms of the multicultural city. Warner and his friends party, do drugs, and hook up, even as violence breaks out in the city—the scars of a fifteen-year civil war reopening with a series of political assassinations and bombings. As the city descends into chaos and violence, Warner feels his grasp on reality slowly begin to slip as he confronts traumas in his past and anxiety over his future.

Illustrated in beautiful and intricate detail, Spring Rain is an absorbing and poignant graphic memoir of a young man’s attempt to gain control over his life as well as a portrait of a city and a nation’s violent struggle to define its future.
