For nearly four decades, Comix Experience has proudly championed comics, graphic novels, creators, and readers in San Francisco. Today, we’re thrilled to share some exciting news: Comix Experience has been selected as a recipient of an American Express Shop Small® small business grant.

This support comes at an important moment for independent retail, and we’re deeply grateful to American Express and the Main Street America organization helping invest in local businesses like ours.

What This Grant Means for Comix Experience

If you’ve been with us for years, you know we’re always looking for ways to better connect readers with great comics. This grant will help us invest in several key areas of growth, including:

● Improving our website and online shopping experience

● Expanding awareness of our monthly Graphic Novel Club subscriptions

● Reaching new comic fans across the country

● Strengthening our ability to serve customers both in-store and online

Growing the Graphic Novel Club

One of the biggest areas of focus for us will be the continued growth of the Comix Experience Graphic Novel Clubs. Our clubs are designed for people who love discovering great books but may not always know what to read next. Every month, members receive a carefully curated graphic novel selected by our team, along with exclusive extras and access to conversations celebrating the art of comics.

Whether you’re a longtime reader, returning to comics after years away, or looking for a meaningful gift for someone in your life, the clubs are a great way to experience what comics can be.
