The Savage Critic: December 26th 2002
By Brian Hibbs

Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends.

Dude. There is no Savage Critic this week. We told you that last week. Not one next week, either. Comics ship on Friday in the first week of 2003, by the way. Don’t show up to your store on Wednesday or Thursday and whine!

What follows is a list of stuff that actually shipped to CE, and, aw, what the fuck, the best and worst of the week.

Meanwhile, do take a look at Brian’s Year End column, which is conveniently linked here. You may, in fact, laugh once or twice.

It was a god-damn big week o’ comics this time out....

Though I generally attempt to give at least one recommendation amongst the TPBs each week, since I HAVE read the material at SOME point.

This Week’s TP recommendation is: Another nothing week for trades, the prize goes inevitably to Supreme: The Story of the Year by Alan Moore. Duh.

Pick of the Week:  The sheer number of choices this week are maddening – Global Frequency #3, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen #4, Grendel: Red White and Black #4, Batman #610, Finder #29, X-Statix #6... it was truly an embarrassment of riches.... all of those scored an “excellent” from me, and I don’t want to decide, so, in the holiday spirit, they all get the Pick of the Week.

Pick of the Weak:  3 Little Kittens #3 was just a smidge more embarrassing to the art form than Marville #4. But it was close. God was it close.

Next week: more of the same!
