The Savage Critic: October 17th, 2001 By Brian Hibbs

*sniff*

I have a little bad news for you folks. No Savage Critic this week.

Webbastard Jeff Lester is going on vacation, which means I need to generate all of Comix Experience’s in store newsletter, Onomatopoeia, solo this month. Which means I haven’t read more than two comics this week. Which means no Critic.

I feel bad about this.

It gets worse, though. Jeff’s going on vacation, which means more than one week, which means no one will be able to update the website, which means there won’t be a new Critic for the next four weeks.

Look for the Savage Critic to return on Friday, November 16, 2001.

The upside of this (sure, there has to be one, right?) is that (1) I can shake off this case of burnout that’s been developing around the Critic, and when it returns it will be shiny and new and fresh again; and (2) the "extra" time means, by the time Jeff gets back, I will be finished with the novel. Sure, that doesn’t help you at all right now, wanting comics reviews, but believe me, it will be a weight off of my back.

In the meantime, we do have a little something-something for you. I’ve been toiling on getting up a Links page for this site and we’re ready to present the beta portion to you, or loyal viewer:

http://comixexperience.com/links.htm

You’d be doing us a solid if you could check out our beta-links page and make some comments. Specifically, I’m looking for any good comics site link I might have missed – especially creator pages. You’ll understand that we will be applying some, vaguely defined, and probably inconsistent editorial standards to adding links. For example, at this moment, I’m not interested in web-only comics sites. But if you know a site that you think might be of interest to others, please e-mail me at brian@comixexperience.com, and I’ll see about getting it added when Jeff gets back from vacation, and the site can be updated again.

Also, if you can test some of the links, and report any broken ones, I’d be in your debt.

Thanks every so much for your time and patience, and we’ll see you again on November 16!
